The Coaches

Our philosophy is "Technique first and foremost"

Janet started her coaching career in 1986 in Lake Tahoe. After moving to Hawaii in 1988 she became an Assistant Coach for the Maui High School Swim Team and developed a Masters swim program for Maui. In 2000 Janet became the Head Coach for the South Maui Sharks and in 2009 was selected as an Assistant Coach for Team Hawaii at the Western Zone Championships. In addition to age group swimming, Janet is active in Masters swimming, both as a coach and as an athlete. She was awarded the 2009 Dorothy Donnelly USMS Service Award for her contributions to Masters swimming. She also has individual Top Ten achievements in the 200 fly and 400 IM. Over the years Coach Renner has attended several clinics at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs where she has coached alongside some of the top Masters coaches in the world. Janet is an ASCA Level 2 certified coach.
